Columbia student arrested for overstaying visa
Leqaa Kordia, a Palestinian student at Columbia University, was arrested for overstaying her student visa, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Her visa was terminated in January 2022 due to lack of attendance. This arrest follows the recent detention of Mahmoud Khalil, another pro-Palestinian activist at Columbia, who now faces deportation. Additionally, Ranjani Srinivasan, an Indian doctoral student, had her visa revoked for allegedly advocating violence. She opted to leave the U.S. voluntarily on March 5.
