A Columbia University student, Ranjani Srinivasan, self-deported after her visa was revoked for supporting Hamas. She used the CBP Home App to leave the U.S. on March 11, 2025, following the visa revocation on March 5. Another student, Leqaa Kordia, was arrested by ICE for overstaying her expired F-1 visa. Her visa had ended on January 26, 2022, due to lack of attendance. Kordia was previously arrested for participating in pro-Hamas protests. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem confirmed these actions, emphasizing that advocating for violence and terrorism leads to visa revocation.
