Columbia University student self-deports after visa revocation
A Columbia University student, Ranjani Srinivasan, self-deported using the new CBP Home app amid increased immigration enforcement against pro-Palestinian protesters. Her visa was revoked after she was linked to activities supporting Hamas. Srinivasan, an Indian national studying Urban Planning, left the U.S. on March 11, shortly after her visa revocation on March 5. This follows the detention of another student, Mahmoud Khalil, for similar reasons. The Department of Homeland Security is intensifying actions against immigrant students involved in protests. More ICE agents have been deployed to Columbia's campus, although no arrests have been reported.
