Completion of sports complexes in Punjab mandated by June
LAHORE: The Secretary of Sports and Youth Affairs in Punjab, Muzaffar Khan Sial, has urged for the quick completion of sports complexes in the Gujrat and Rawalpindi Divisions by June 2025. This directive was given during a meeting at Punjab Stadium to assess ongoing sports development projects. Attendees included various officials, such as DG Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry and Additional Secretary Sports Mian Usman Ali. Some project managers joined via video call. Sial shared that there are currently 15 sports projects under construction in Rawalpindi and nine in Gujrat. He emphasized that these developments aim to improve sports facilities across Punjab, encouraging a stronger sports culture and helping to discover new talent. The plans also include restoring several sports complexes, with five in Attock, seven in Rawalpindi, two in Chakwal, and one in Jhelum.
