Congress MLAs protest in Rajasthan assembly over questions
Congress MLAs protested in the Rajasthan assembly on Monday during the Question Hour. They were upset after the Speaker, Vasudev Devnani, denied additional questions from Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully regarding electricity issues. Devnani stated that Jully had already asked two supplementary questions and would not be allowed to ask more. Jully disagreed, arguing that the opposition had the right to question the government. He accused the government of trying to silence their voices. As tensions rose, Congress members moved to the well of the House, shouting slogans and disrupting proceedings. The Speaker warned them to stop or face strict action. Despite his warnings, Congress continued their protest and eventually walked out of the assembly. Jully criticized the government for not addressing important issues, saying their actions undermined the assembly's traditions. He claimed that electricity matters affected everyone in the state and accused the ruling BJP of being unprepared. In response, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel labeled the Congress uproar as unnecessary, saying they lacked real issues. Industry Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore also criticized Jully, reminding him that he was not in charge of the House.
