Connecticut man arrested for possessing 18.4 pounds of marijuana

A man from Connecticut was arrested on Thursday after police found a large quantity of marijuana in his car during a traffic stop. The officers pulled him over on Greenfield Drive for motor vehicle violations and suspicious behavior. The driver, 28-year-old Marcus Acosta from Meriden, was providing his documents when officers noticed a significant amount of marijuana and packaging materials in the backseat. He was taken into custody immediately. During a search of the vehicle, police seized 18.4 pounds of marijuana, nearly $4,000 in cash, and two cell phones. Acosta now faces serious charges, including operating a drug factory and possession with intent to sell over one kilogram of cannabis. He is currently held on a $250,000 bond. In addition to the drug charges, police also issued Acosta an infraction for having tinted windows.
