Connecticut man sentenced to 25 years for murder
A 20-year-old man from Meriden, Josue Ortega-Torres, pleaded guilty to murder on March 11 for the stabbing death of Justin Sloan Sr. in July 2023. Ortega-Torres followed Sloan before confronting him outside his home and stabbing him multiple times. He later hid evidence and surrendered after a standoff with police. As part of a plea deal, Ortega-Torres will be sentenced to 25 years in prison on May 8.
