Consumers want personalized, secure AI home appliances
A recent survey by Samsung Electronics shows that global consumers want more personalized and secure AI-powered home appliances. The online survey, conducted from May 23 to 28, 2024, included 1,880 participants aged 20 to 59 from South Korea, the UK, and the US. Respondents expect AI to help with household chores, focusing on areas like cleaning and cooking. Many participants highlighted the importance of security and safety in their expectations, emphasizing that AI appliances should not only simplify tasks but also protect their homes. Samsung is working to improve its AI Home experience by integrating advanced AI and connectivity features. The survey reveals a strong demand for user-friendly controls in home appliances, with most respondents preferring voice interaction. Samsung's AI appliances aim to be easy to use with the Bixby voice assistant. The new Bespoke AI Dishwasher and 2025 Bespoke AI Hybrid Refrigerator will feature voice recognition for personalized experiences. Energy efficiency is also a priority. Many respondents expressed interest in minimizing resource consumption, particularly in the US, UK, and South Korea. Samsung's new appliances aim to achieve better performance while conserving energy. Respondents want AI-driven security features to keep their homes safe. To meet these needs, Samsung equips its smart appliances with Samsung Knox, a security system that protects user data. The company is enhancing its security capabilities with the Knox Matrix, allowing appliances to monitor each other's security status. Samsung plans to introduce improved security features across its home appliance lineup in 2025, including biometric authentication options. The company aims to meet growing consumer interest in AI technology and provide safer, more convenient home experiences. Samsung will showcase its new AI product lineup at the "Welcome to Bespoke AI" event on March 26, 2025.
