Contractor fined for poor cleanliness at Dharmapuri hospital
Dharmapuri: District Collector R Sadheesh has fined a private contractor 10,000 for poor cleanliness at the Dharmapuri Government Medical College and Hospital. This decision came after a surprise inspection by the collector. During his visit, Sadheesh checked various aspects of the hospital, including patient care, medicine availability, food quality, and sanitation. He found several areas that were not clean enough. "I have fined the contractor responsible for cleaning due to poor sanitation practices," Sadheesh stated. He also warned the contractor to improve overall cleanliness at the hospital. The inspection covered multiple departments, including intensive care, emergency care, and pediatrics. The collector spoke with medical officers about improving patient care. He also instructed doctors to improve the waiting area for patients’ families by providing better seating and suggested adding a roof over the hospital's entrance to help patients.
