Convicted killer strangles wife during prison visit

A woman was killed during a visit with her husband at Mule Creek State Prison in Northern California. Authorities say Stephanie Brinson, 62, was strangled by her husband, David Brinson, 54. He is serving a life sentence for killing four men in Los Angeles during a robbery. The incident happened on November 13. David Brinson contacted officers around 2 a.m., claiming his wife had lost consciousness. When officers arrived, they attempted to save her, but she was pronounced dead shortly after. The Amador County District Attorney, Todd Riebe, confirmed that the death occurred during a conjugal visit. He is still waiting for reports from the prison before deciding whether to file charges. David Brinson is currently held at the California Health Care Facility in Stockton.
