Cooperstown girls basketball loses in state semifinals

Cooperstown's girls basketball team played in the Class C state semifinals, but they lost to Stillwater 59-37 on March 20, 2025. This defeat marked the first time in months that Cooperstown scored under 40 points in a game. The Hawkeyes had shown strong defense leading up to the semifinals. In the sectional title game, they held Hamilton to only three points in the third quarter. They also performed well against Delaware Academy, outscoring them 22-10 in the fourth quarter to reach the final four of the state competition. Despite the loss, the team expressed pride in their journey to the semifinals. They faced tough competition but worked hard and demonstrated their skills throughout the season. The players and coaches felt the pain of the defeat but also knew that their efforts were worthwhile.
