Cork faces Tipperary in NHL final at home
Cork will face Tipperary in the National Hurling League final at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on April 6. The game is set to begin at 4 PM and will be the first League final between the two counties since 1960. Before this match, Offaly will compete against Waterford in the Division 1B final at 1:45 PM. Both games will be shown live on TG4. Cork will have the advantage of playing at home in this final, as they have a home-and-away arrangement with Tipperary. Cork's previous home games in this League attracted crowds of over 20,000, and attendance for this final is expected to exceed 30,000. However, Cork's inside forward Brian Hayes will not play in the final due to a knee injury he suffered during a recent game against Galway. Fortunately, a scan showed that his injury will likely keep him out for only three weeks. This League final is just one of several upcoming football matches. This weekend, the Allianz Football League finals will take place at Croke Park. The Division 1 final between Kerry and Mayo will kick off at 4 PM. Unlike previous years, the curtain-raiser will be the Division 3 final between Kildare and Offaly at 1:45 PM. The Division 2 final will occur on Saturday along with other matches.
