inquirer.net

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has warned that Coron in Palawan and Hinatuan in Surigao Del Norte may face a high heat index on Monday, reaching up to 39°C. This level falls under the "extreme caution" category, where temperatures are between 33°C and 41°C. People in these areas could experience symptoms like heat cramps and exhaustion, and there is a risk of heat stroke with prolonged sun exposure. Pagasa has also listed other areas that might reach similar high heat indices of 38°C, 37°C, 36°C, and even lower temperatures down to 33°C. To help prevent heat-related illnesses, the Department of Health is urging the public to stay hydrated. They suggest minimizing outdoor activities between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Furthermore, wearing loose and lightweight clothing is recommended to help stay cool during the hot weather.
