Couple seeks missing dog after dog sitter incident
A couple from Halewood, Lynn and Terry Maher, are asking for help to find their missing German Shepherd, Shadow. It has been 160 days since he disappeared while under the care of a dog sitter. They last saw him after returning from a three-week vacation in America. Shortly after their return, they were informed that Shadow ran away when he got scared by a firework. Lynn, 64, described the moment they learned about Shadow's disappearance as devastating. She said they immediately rushed to search for him, but there were no signs. Since then, the couple has spent every day looking for their pet. They have followed leads all over the country and even reached out to people in Ireland and Scotland. The couple has received support from the community, with many sharing information on social media. However, they have faced frustrating situations, including hoax calls from people falsely claiming to have seen Shadow. Lynn shared one experience where a man asked for a reward after pretending to have found a dog that resembled Shadow. Despite the challenges, Lynn and Terry remain hopeful. They continue to explore every lead and urge pet owners to research dog sitters carefully. The last possible sighting of Shadow was in February, but the couple found no evidence after setting up cameras and food stations. They are determined to find their beloved dog and ask anyone who may have seen him to contact them.
