Court seizes earnings of Korean chef Lee Young Sook over long-standing debt

Chef Lee Young Sook, known from Netflix's "Culinary Class Wars," had her earnings seized by a court due to a long-standing debt. The Daejeon District Court approved the creditor's request to collect ₩100 million KRW (about $72,500 USD) owed since 2010. Lee borrowed the money to support her restaurant plans but failed to repay it by the agreed date. After the lender's death in 2011, his family won a lawsuit against her in 2012 but only recovered a portion of the debt. Lee's representatives deny the allegations, claiming all debts have been settled. The creditor's family states the total amount owed, including interest, has exceeded ₩300 million KRW (about $217,000 USD).
