Courtney Love plans to make U.K. home permanent
Courtney Love, the famous rock star, has announced that she will make the United Kingdom her permanent home. She recently spoke at an event in London, expressing her excitement about applying for British citizenship. Love, who has lived in London for five years, mentioned that she hopes to complete the process by the end of 2025. At the Royal Geographical Society event, Love criticized former President Donald Trump and his administration, calling them “emperor-core.” She described the leadership as elitist and likened it to “cyanide.” Love's comments reflect her ongoing discontent with the political situation in the U.S. While Love did not directly link her move to the political climate, she has previously stated that the U.K.'s stricter privacy laws appeal to her. Love gained fame in the 1990s with her band Hole and was married to Nirvana's Kurt Cobain. They had one daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, before Kurt's tragic death in 1994. Recently, Frances Bean had a baby boy, making Love a grandmother. Love's move to the U.K. reflects a trend among some celebrities who are choosing to leave the U.S. as the Trump administration continues. Comedian Rosie O'Donnell is another public figure who moved abroad for similar reasons, stating she would consider returning only when all American citizens have equal rights.
