Cowboys may trade for Steelers receiver George Pickens
The Dallas Cowboys are looking to improve their wide receiver group this offseason. Currently, they have star player CeeDee Lamb, but questions remain about his supporting teammates. Veteran Brandin Cooks has signed with the New Orleans Saints, which leaves a gap in the Cowboys' roster. Sportskeeda's Andre Castillo predicts that the Cowboys could trade for George Pickens, a wide receiver from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pickens is in the last year of his $6 million rookie contract. Castillo emphasizes that Dallas needs a strong WR2 now that Cooks is gone. He believes Pickens would significantly upgrade the Cowboys' offense. While Pickens could provide a much-needed boost, he comes with risks. He has shown unpredictable behavior on and off the field, which has raised concerns among fans and analysts. Despite these issues, Castillo suggests that the Cowboys could manage Pickens’ salary and potentially extend his contract in the future. The Steelers may be hesitant to trade Pickens. Losing him would leave the team searching for another receiver, similar to challenges they faced in the past. It’s expected that the Steelers will keep him at least until the season starts. If the team struggles in 2025, however, Pickens might become a trade candidate later in the season.
