CPI(M) protests for separate ITDA in Srikakulam

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) will hold a protest on March 25. The protest will take place at the Collector’s office in Srikakulam district. The party is calling for the creation of an Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) specifically for the district. D. Govinda Rao, the CPI(M) district secretary, announced the protest. He said that the current ITDA, located at Sithampet, is now part of the Parvatipuram-Manyam district. This change has made it harder to assist the over 200,000 tribal people living in Srikakulam. Govinda Rao emphasized the need for an exclusive ITDA. Tribal communities are spread across several mandals, such as Amadalavalasa, Sarubujjili, and Mandasa. He also mentioned that the CPI(M) has been advocating for improved marketing facilities for tribal products in recent weeks. On the day of the protest, party leaders plan to submit a formal request to officials. They will highlight the challenges faced by the tribal people in the area.
