Crash on Delhi-Jaipur expressway kills one, injures nine
A serious accident on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway resulted in one man dead and nine others injured. The crash happened on Sunday evening in Manesar when a van overturned after being hit by a speeding car, according to police. The deceased was identified as 41-year-old Dharambir Kumar. He was traveling with his wife, Yashwanti, and their neighbors, Kapil Kumar and his family. The group was returning from the Baba Mohanram temple in Rajasthan when the accident occurred around 6:30 PM. Following the crash, the injured individuals were first taken to a private hospital in Manesar. Unfortunately, Dharambir later died from his injuries. Some victims, like Upasana and Mithilesh, were discharged after treatment, but others, including Prakash and Kavita, remain in critical condition at a hospital in Delhi. Police are investigating the incident. They are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the speeding car that struck the van. Public relations officer Sandeep Kumar stated they are working to find the car’s registration number. A relative, Kamal, described the accident, noting that the van flipped multiple times after being hit. He expressed relief that no other vehicles collided with them during the chaotic moment. Authorities have registered an FIR against the unidentified driver for causing death and injuries due to negligence and rash driving. Dharambir's body was returned to his family after the autopsy on Monday afternoon.
