Criticism grows over RRB exam cancellation in Tamil Nadu

The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee president, K. Selvaperunthagai, criticized Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on March 19, 2025. He demanded that Vaishnaw apologize to young candidates after the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) canceled an important exam for Assistant Loco Pilots. Selvaperunthagai stated that the cancellation was due to “technical reasons.” He argued that the decision caused mental stress for many students who were prepared to take the exam. He also mentioned leader Rahul Gandhi's concerns about 85 lakh students affected by previous exam problems. Candidates from Tamil Nadu faced additional challenges as they were assigned exam centers in states like Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Selvaperunthagai claimed this made the process even more difficult for those who traveled far to take the exam. He expressed that the Railways Department is harming the aspirations of the youth.
