Crowhurst solar farm plans to enhance local wildlife significantly
A new solar farm is planned for Crowhurst, East Sussex, aiming to generate clean energy for over 2,500 homes and create a nature reserve. The project will transform 12 hectares of land and increase local biodiversity. Energise Sussex Coast, managing the project, states that 80% of the village relies on oil heating. The solar farm will be owned by a community co-operative, with profits directed to a Community Benefit Fund for local improvements. While many residents support the initiative for its environmental benefits, some express concerns about its size and impact on the landscape and nearby homes.
