Crown Point teen charged with Level 3 felony rape
A 19-year-old from Crown Point has been accused of rape. Noah Villarreal was charged with a Level 3 felony following an incident at his home. The alleged victim, a 20-year-old woman, reported waking up to find Villarreal assaulting her after a party on February 21. Police are still trying to locate him for arrest. If convicted, he could face 3 to 16 years in prison and will be held without bail when captured. Villarreal also has several pending charges, including theft and sexual battery. In another case, a bail hearing for Derrick Pouncey has been postponed to June. Pouncey is accused of a violent murder that left a couple, Kyle and Klorya Matthews, dead in Gary. The couple was killed while trying to assist a relative escape from Pouncey's attack. Kyle Matthews was known as a domestic violence advocate, and his wife Klorya was close to completing a master’s degree in psychology. The hearings are scheduled for June 11 and 27, with the next court date set for April 17. In federal court, Ronnie Major, also known as "Black," has decided to proceed with his plea deal. Major, 54, has pled guilty to conspiracy and murder charges. He previously served as vice president of a motorcycle gang in Gary. Prosecutors accuse him of arranging a murder to silence a witness against him. A new sentencing date for Major has not yet been established, and once a plea deal is accepted, it is usually hard to change.
