CRPF officer injured in West Singhbhum IED blast
A sub-inspector from the CRPF was injured in an IED blast caused by Maoists in West Singhbhum on Tuesday. The explosion took place during a gunfight in a forest area near the Jaraikela police station. Multiple security teams, including the CRPF, Jharkhand Jaguar, CoBRA, and local police, were conducting a cordon and search operation at the time. The injured officer, Subodh Kumar from the CRPF's 134 battalion, received first aid at their camp before being airlifted to Ranchi. Authorities reported that he is in stable condition. During the encounter, the Maoists opened fire on security forces. As they retreated into the forest, they triggered a previously planted IED aimed at targeting the forces. Since March 4, security operations have been ongoing in the Chhotanagar and Jaraikela areas due to reports of Maoist activity. In another action, security forces discovered an ammunition dump in a forest on Tuesday. They found two live IEDs, a codex wire, electrical switches, and other supplies, which the bomb squad safely disposed of.
