Crystal Mischley diagnosed with advanced Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Crystal Mischley, a 27-year-old from Michigan, was diagnosed with stage 3B Bulky Classical Hodgkin's Lymphoma in June 2023. She was engaged and working as a nanny, but had been suffering from various symptoms for months, including a persistent cough and night sweats. Before her bridal shower on June 4, 2023, Crystal felt very ill but decided to continue with the event for her family. The next day, she went to urgent care, where doctors discovered a large tumor on her chest. The news of her cancer diagnosis was devastating, but doctors told her it was potentially treatable. As her wedding approached, Crystal began chemotherapy, which had serious side effects. She and her fiancé, Matt, ultimately decided to elope, as her health continued to decline. Unfortunately, after her first round of treatment, doctors found that she was chemo-resistant. Crystal is now preparing for a second stem cell transplant using donor cells. Unfortunately, her condition has worsened, and the cancer has spread to her lungs. She is undergoing a new, aggressive chemotherapy regimen while waiting for the transplant, which is tentatively scheduled for May. To maintain her spirits, Crystal stays connected with friends, practices self-care, and babysits a 13-year-old girl with leukemia. She has also shared her journey on social media, raising awareness for lymphoma and stem cell donation. Despite the challenges, Crystal finds joy in small moments and remains hopeful for the future.
