CSCL transferring 32 projects to municipal corporation
Chandigarh Smart City Limited (CSCL) will close on March 20, transferring most of its projects to the municipal corporation. Out of 36 projects, 32 will be handed over, while four will go to other departments. The Integrated Command and Control Centre, e-governance, e-carts, and smart schools will be managed by the IT, tourism, and education departments. The municipal corporation will take over projects like sewage treatment plants and solid waste management. CSCL was established in 2015 to improve urban governance and infrastructure, spending over Rs 850 crore on various projects. The Smart Cities Mission has been extended to March 31, 2025, but lacks budget allocation for 2025-26.
