Freddie Banks is leaving his position as defensive coordinator for the CSU Rams, multiple sources confirmed on Wednesday. The team is now searching for a replacement. Banks joined the Rams in 2022 and oversaw improvements in defensive performance. This season, the Rams ranked fourth in the Mountain West for points allowed per game. In 2022, the Rams allowed an average of 28.9 points per game, which increased to 29.6 in 2023. Banks previously coached at Nevada and Montana State, where he led a strong defense that reached the FCS national championship game.
