A North Haven man has been charged after hitting a state police cruiser on Interstate 91. The incident occurred in February while the cruiser was helping a disabled vehicle. Sean Brozek, 30, was arrested on Monday. He faces several charges including reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, and using a handheld device while driving. The crash happened on February 14 when Brozek’s car veered onto the shoulder and struck the parked cruiser. The state police cruiser had its emergency lights on at the time. A trooper in the cruiser sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Brozek also had minor injuries and was evaluated at a hospital. After an investigation, police obtained an arrest warrant for Brozek. He was arrested and taken to Troop I in Bethany for processing. Brozek was released on a $5,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on March 28.
