CUPE and Black Gold School Division settle strike

CUPE Local 3484 and the Black Gold School Division have reached a tentative agreement to end their strike, which started on February 24. Around 570 union members will vote on the proposed settlement tonight. If the agreement is approved, the workers plan to return to their jobs on Thursday. Instead of traditional picket lines, they will participate in a community clean-up today. Other school districts have also reached tentative agreements. These include Edmonton Public Schools, Parkland School Division, Calgary Board of Education, and Calgary Catholic School District. Additionally, some districts have already ratified their agreements, such as Fort McMurray Catholic Schools and Fort McMurray Public Schools.
