Cy Herchelroath pitches perfect game for Elizabeth Forward

Cy Herchelroath threw a perfect game for Elizabeth Forward in high school baseball on March 24, 2025. He struck out 10 batters and led his team to a 1-0 victory over Ringgold. The only run of the game came in the seventh inning when Landon Jackson doubled, and Mitchell Vuick hit a single to bring him home. In other games, Avella edged West Greene with a score of 4-3, thanks to Tristan Davis's RBI in the eighth inning. Avonworth dominated Calhoun Academy, winning 15-0, with John Dolan contributing significantly with four RBIs. Beaver secured a close 2-1 win over Hopewell, with Derek Hughes hitting a double in the seventh inning. Bishop Canevin triumphed over Sewickley Academy, winning 15-0. Blackhawk also scored a decisive victory against Hampton, ending the game 10-0. In a thrilling match, Brentwood defeated Springdale 13-8. Carrick faced Brashear and won 13-6, with Eli Wittman performing well in the game. Central Valley managed a 9-7 victory against Ellwood City, while Deer Lakes outplayed Southmoreland, ending with a score of 13-3. Charleroi bested Washington with a score of 14-4, and several other teams, including Derry and Eden Christian, also celebrated significant wins. Notably, the game between Fort Cherry and Beth-Center ended with a close 3-2 finish as Fort Cherry scored a walk-off victory. In softball, Allderdice crushed Obama Academy 15-0, and Armstrong took care of Karns City with a 15-1 score. Beaver's team also performed well, winning 16-1 against Mars. In other events, Canon-McMillan won against Norwin, and Carmichaels defeated McGuffey 3-2 in a tight match. South Park showcased excellent pitching with a perfect game against Uniontown, while Union won 15-0 against Western Beaver. Finally, in boys volleyball, Canon-McMillan had a victory over Central Catholic. In girls lacrosse, Fox Chapel came out on top against North Hills with a score of 13-8, and Pine-Richland defeated Wooster convincingly by 10 goals.
