Cyclothon in Mandya raises awareness on female foeticide
Mandya zilla panchayat is planning a cyclothon to raise awareness about female foeticide. This event aims to inform people about the negative impacts of this practice and other related issues. ZP CEO KR Nandini announced that the health department will also organize workshops and a play to address these harmful effects. The cyclothon will focus on various topics, including child marriage, cleanliness in homes, the importance of nutritious food, women's contributions to economic growth, and success stories of women leaders. Nandini emphasized that these taluk-level events should take place by April 4. Activities will include cricket matches, rope-pulling competitions, rangoli, vegetable carving, debate competitions, and elocution contests. Additionally, a district-level program is scheduled for April 7 or 8. This event will honor women in roles such as auto drivers for waste disposal, ASHA workers, anganwadi workers, and women in agriculture who have excelled in their fields.
