Czech firefighters control toxic benzene train fire
A freight train carrying benzene derailed and caught fire in the Czech Republic on Friday, leading to a large emergency response. Firefighters from multiple regions worked to control the blaze, which produced thick black smoke visible for miles. No injuries were reported, but the fire affected about 15 of the 17 benzene tanks. Firefighters used foam to contain the flames and prevent further explosions. A helicopter and a mobile chemical lab were also deployed to the scene. Local residents were advised to stay indoors as a precaution. Officials stated that air quality has not exceeded pollution limits, and police are investigating the cause of the derailment.
