D Gukesh celebrates World Chess Championship win with bungee jump in Singapore
D Gukesh, the 18-year-old chess prodigy, returned to Chennai on Monday after winning the World Chess Championship. He is now the youngest world champion, having defeated China's Ding Liren. To celebrate his victory, Gukesh shared a video of himself bungee jumping in Singapore. This was part of a promise to his coach, Grzegorz Gajewski, to face his fear of heights if he won the title. Upon his arrival, Gukesh received a warm welcome from fans and officials. He was greeted with flowers and a shawl at the airport, highlighting his achievement as only the second Indian world champion after Viswanathan Anand.
