D Gukesh outlines busy 2025 chess schedule featuring multiple matches against Magnus Carlsen

D Gukesh, the new chess world champion, will begin his busy 2025 schedule in January. He will skip the FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Championship but will compete in several major tournaments, including the Tata Steel Chess Tournament in the Netherlands from January 17 to February 2. Gukesh will also participate in the Freestyle Chess Grand Slam Tour, starting in Germany from February 7 to 14. He will face top players like Magnus Carlsen and Viswanathan Anand in this series, which includes five tournaments throughout the year. Additionally, Gukesh will return to Norway Chess from May 26 to June 6, after missing the event in 2024. He will compete against Carlsen, Erigaisi, and Wei Yi in this prestigious tournament.
