Dagupan forecasted 42°C heat index on March 18
The heat index in Dagupan, Pangasinan, is expected to reach 42 degrees Celsius (°C) on Tuesday, March 18. This level falls under the "danger" category, which is between 42°C and 51°C. The government agency, Pagasa, warns that such high temperatures can cause heat cramps and heat exhaustion. Prolonged exposure to this extreme heat might even lead to heat stroke. In addition to Dagupan, 58 other areas in the Philippines are forecasted to be in an "extreme caution" zone, with heat indices ranging from 33°C to 41°C. The Department of Health has urged the public to stay hydrated. They recommend limiting outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to minimize heat-related health risks. People are also advised to wear light and loose-fitting clothing to stay cool.
