Daisy Ridley and Alden Ehrenreich star in Philippine romcom

Daisy Ridley and Alden Ehrenreich, famous for their roles in "Star Wars," will star in a new romantic-comedy film called "The Last Resort." The movie is set in the Philippines and will begin production in April. The film's story centers on a character named Brooke, played by Ridley. She travels to the Philippines to look for a new resort location to prove herself to her father's hotel business. During her journey, she meets Ben, a charter pilot portrayed by Ehrenreich. He helps her explore the beauty of the Philippines while navigating her feelings between duty and love. Donald Petrie, known for directing hits like "Miss Congeniality," will direct the film. The script is written by Karen McCullah, who has worked on popular films like "Legally Blonde." Ridley is known for playing Rey Skywalker in the Star Wars sequel trilogy. She has also been in films like "Murder on the Orient Express" and "Chaos Walking." Ehrenreich played a younger Han Solo in "Solo: A Star Wars Story" and starred in other films such as "Cocaine Bear" and "Oppenheimer." Business tycoon Manuel V. Pangilinan will be an executive producer for "The Last Resort," along with Ernesto “Bong” Sta. Maria Jr. and Raja Collins. Simon Heo, Akshay Mehta, and Rick Dugdale will be co-producers for the project.
