Activists from Dal Khalsa and Sikh Youth of Punjab (SYP) put up posters of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale on buses and private vehicles in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday. This action came after a recent incident in Manali, where locals reacted negatively to Punjabi tourists displaying flags with Bhindranwale’s picture. The SYP leader, Gurnam Singh Moonak, said their actions were a response to the local backlash. Recently, some youths from Punjab faced trouble when they displayed Bhindranwale's flags on their bikes in Manali. Local residents reportedly tore down these flags, leading to tensions in the area. Akal Takht's acting jathedar, Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaj, condemned the local response. He called for the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh to promote harmony among communities. Gargaj emphasized that it is unacceptable for locals to respond with force when police are conducting vehicle checks. In response to the incidents, Manali's Deputy Superintendent of Police, KD Sharma, stated that they took action. A case has been filed against the locals involved in the incidents after receiving complaints.
