Dallas Mavericks expected to welcome injured players back
The Dallas Mavericks have some encouraging news as they prepare to face the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. NBA insider Mark Stein reports that the team may welcome back key players soon. The Mavericks have been struggling with injuries since the NBA All-Star break. They have lost 10 of their last 13 games, including seven of their last eight contests. Only four players have participated in all 13 games during this stretch. Recently, PJ Washington returned from an injury, but the team was still limited to just eight players in their recent loss to Philadelphia. Currently, 10 Mavericks are listed on the injury report, which could mean a short bench for their upcoming game. However, there is optimism for the return of Jaden Hardy and Kai Jones. Hardy has been sidelined for the last seven games due to an ankle sprain but has been practicing with the G League team. He may be ready to play on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Jones has also missed games with a quad strain but previously impressed in his brief time on the court. Other players with injury concerns include Brandon Williams, who has a chance to play, and Caleb Martin, who is expected to return later this week. Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively II are also dealing with injuries but are making progress. The Mavericks currently stand at 33-36, sitting in 10th place in the Western Conference, just ahead of the Phoenix Suns.
