Dame Jacinda Ardern to receive United Nations leadership award in New York
Dame Jacinda Ardern will receive the Champion for Global Change award from the United Nations Foundation at a ceremony in New York tomorrow. This award honors individuals and organizations that exemplify the values of the UN. The citation highlights Ardern's leadership in promoting women's rights, addressing climate change, and fostering unity and peace. She recently received her damehood from Prince William in the UK. Other 2024 award recipients include Amanda Gorman, Angélique Kidjo, and Louise Mabulo. Since stepping down as prime minister, Ardern has taken on roles with the Earthshot Prize and Harvard University, and is writing a book on leadership.
