Damien Darkblood returns for revenge in Invincible Season 4
In the latest season of the animated series "Invincible," Damien Darkblood makes a surprising return. He was previously sent back to Hell by Cecil and the Global Defense Agency (GDA) in Season 1. Darkblood had ignored orders not to investigate the murder of the Guardians, specifically avoiding the focus on Nolan, also known as Omni-Man. At the end of Season 3, Darkblood reveals plans to drag a powerful individual to Hell for possession by a demon lord. This new twist raises questions about who Darkblood intends to target. Many fans speculate that he may go after Mark Grayson, the show's main character, but Darkblood’s hints suggest it might also be Cecil, who he views as corrupt. Cecil has been enhancing dead bodies into soldiers called ReAnimen, which could add to his strength. This manipulation of the dead could make him an attractive target for Darkblood, who has a vendetta against Cecil after their past conflicts. The show’s creator, Robert Kirkman, mentioned that this new storyline, dubbed the "Hell Arc," is not found in the original comics. He believes it's a significant part of superhero narratives and finds the opportunity to explore this concept exciting. The series often diverges from expected plotlines, so fans anticipate surprising developments in the upcoming Season 4. "Invincible" continues to be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
