Dangerous heat indexes forecast for two Luzon areas
The state weather service PAGASA has warned about a dangerous heat index in two areas of Luzon on March 25, 2025. They forecasted that the heat index could reach 47 degrees Celsius in Dagupan City, Pangasinan, and 43 degrees Celsius in San Ildefonso, Bulacan. A heat index between 42 and 51 degrees Celsius is classified as "danger," which can cause health issues like heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke if people continue to be active outdoors. In Metro Manila, the temperature is also expected to be high. The Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City may see a high of 39 degrees Celsius, while Science Garden in Quezon City could reach 38 degrees Celsius. The heat index is a measure that takes both temperature and humidity into account to show how hot it really feels. PAGASA has advised the public to limit outdoor activities, stay hydrated, and dress in light clothing to prevent heat-related illnesses.
