Dangote Refinery boosts fuel exports as African and European nations show interest
Dangote Petroleum Refinery is set to increase its fuel exports as several African and European countries express interest. South Africa, Angola, and Namibia are among eight African nations negotiating to purchase petrol from the refinery. The refinery, located in Lagos, has been attracting major buyers like Vitol Group, Trafigura Group, and BP Plc since it began operations. Ghana has also shown strong intent to buy petrol from Dangote. In Nigeria, local oil marketers are seeking more import licenses, citing high prices from Dangote. They claim the refinery is trying to dominate the market, while Ghana proposes a common currency for purchasing Dangote petrol to reduce reliance on the dollar.
