Dartmouth defeats Colorado in women's lacrosse match
The Colorado women's lacrosse team faced Dartmouth in a neutral-site game on Sunday and lost 11-9 in Houston. This loss snapped Colorado's three-game winning streak and brought their season record to 4-5. The game started well for Colorado, as they led 4-2 at the end of the first quarter. However, Dartmouth responded strongly in the second quarter, scoring six goals to take an 8-7 lead at halftime. Colorado struggled in the third quarter, failing to score any goals while Dartmouth extended their lead to 10-7 early in the fourth. Despite a late push from Colorado, including goals from Maddie Shoup and Kendall Havill to make it 10-9, they could not tie the game. Dartmouth sealed their victory with a final goal from Fiona O'Keefe. Madeline Pisani was the top performer for Colorado, contributing two goals and three assists. Freshman goalie Elena Oh had a tough outing, saving only three of 14 shots faced. Coach Ann Elliott Whidden acknowledged defensive mistakes but praised Dartmouth's offensive execution.
