Daughter of murder victim speaks out against execution of killer in Alabama
Carey Dale Grayson was executed in Alabama on Thursday for his role in the 1994 murder of Vickie Deblieux. Grayson, 50, was put to death using nitrogen hypoxia, a method previously used for two other inmates. Jodi Haley, Deblieux's daughter, opposed the execution, stating that society failed Grayson as a child. She emphasized the need to stop executing inmates, arguing that revenge is not justice and that Grayson’s potential was lost. Grayson was convicted of capital murder in 1996. His execution followed a violent crime where Deblieux was killed by Grayson and three others. Grayson made a defiant statement before his death, which was cut off by officials.
