Dauphin County Commissioners approve 19 board appointments
Dauphin County Commissioners met on Wednesday to approve appointments to county boards. They approved 19 appointments in total. However, the meeting was marked by disagreements among the commissioners. Eighteen of the appointees were approved unanimously for seven boards. One additional appointee was accepted for an eighth board, but that vote was contentious, ending in a 2-1 decision. During the meeting, one commissioner expressed concerns about a possible conflict of interest regarding certain appointments. In response, another commissioner described these comments as "shameful." Additionally, three proposed appointments to a single board were postponed. There were questions about whether that board has term limits, which led to the decision to table those appointments.
