Dave Mahon pleads not guilty to assaulting pensioner
A jury has been selected for the trial of Dave Mahon, who is facing charges for assaulting a pensioner. Mr. Mahon, who is 53 years old and from Carrick on Shannon, pleaded not guilty to the charge of causing harm to 70-year-old Jim Fahy on August 26, 2021. The trial took place in Carrick on Shannon Circuit Court. Mr. Mahon appeared in a cream coat and blue jeans. He confirmed his name and his plea before sitting with his wife, Audrey, in the courtroom. The alleged victim, Mr. Fahy, was not present during the proceedings. Judge John Aylmer informed the jury that the trial is expected to last between two to three days, possibly extending into next week.
