David George Johnson of Portland passed away at 75

David George Johnson, 75, passed away on March 15 in Hartford, Connecticut. He was married for 48 years to Barbara Wade Johnson. David was born on June 28, 1948, in Middletown. He was the son of Frank L. and Harriette Johnson, who have both passed away. David graduated from Durham High School in 1967. He later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from Central Connecticut State University. He began his career at the Middletown Press, where he worked in the composing room and eventually became the Assistant Business Manager. David continued to work in accounting throughout his life, finishing his career as the Controller at Prototype Plastic & Mold Company, retiring in 2020. He is survived by three daughters: Dawn Whelan, Jennifer Johnson, and Kortney Holland, as well as several grandchildren. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, March 29, at 12 p.m. at the Portland Memorial Funeral Home. Friends can visit from 10 a.m. until the service starts. The burial will be private.
