David McNeil to speak at Charleston solar energy event
The World Affairs Council Charleston (WACC) will host an event on April 23 featuring expert David McNeil. The event will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Halls Signature Events, located at 5 Faber St. in Charleston. David McNeil is a specialist in solar energy and microgrid systems. Microgrids are important because they allow facilities to keep running during power outages. The U.S. government is investing in these systems to ensure critical operations continue during emergencies. McNeil is the President and CEO of Hanna Solar Government Services, which focuses on solar energy and microgrid projects. His company has worked on projects in 17 states, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and other international locations. Before starting HSGS, McNeil had a distinguished 30-year career in the U.S. Army. He commanded units in various roles, including serving as base commander at Fort Dix, New Jersey. He has also served in combat zones, including Iraq and Afghanistan. McNeil has multiple degrees in engineering, information systems, management, and national security.
