David Mitchell announces Ludwig season 2 filming starts

David Mitchell has shared an update about the second season of his show, Ludwig. He promises fans can expect "more of the same" as filming is set to start later this year. Ludwig, a BBC comedy-drama, features a puzzle enthusiast who takes on his missing brother's identity to discover what happened to him. The show debuted in September 2024 on BBC One and iPlayer, quickly gaining nearly 10 million viewers in its first month. Due to its success, it was renewed for a second season. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Mitchell discussed the upcoming episodes. He said the scripts are currently being written but gave little detail. "Our hope and aim is to give more of the same: the ongoing, intriguing narrative and the same weekly, resolved mystery," he explained. The series is also making its debut in the US on BritBox. Mitchell believes its distinctly British style might attract viewers looking for that unique sensibility. He mentioned that even with some references that may be unfamiliar to American audiences, the overall direction of the show would still be clear. Filming will take place in Cambridge, where Mitchell attended university. He finds comfort in returning to this familiar setting, especially during uncertain times.
