Daytime paving will cause delays on Staten Island
Drivers on Staten Island should prepare for delays next week due to street paving work. The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) will conduct the work during the day from Monday, March 24, to Friday, March 28. The affected neighborhoods include Eltingville, Annadale, Huguenot, and Prince’s Bay. There will be no work done over the weekend. Motorists can expect road closures and detours throughout the week. The DOT has provided a detailed schedule for the paving work, but some changes may happen without notice. On Monday, paving will occur on Terrace Avenue, Vogel Avenue, and Uncas Avenue. On Tuesday, the work will continue on Uncas Avenue and Wheeling Avenue. Wednesday's schedule includes finishing up work on Wheeling Avenue and Valdemar Avenue, as well as Queensdale Street. On Thursday, crews will be on Waterbury Avenue, Madera Street, Haynes Street, and Wrenn Street. Finally, on Friday, paving will take place on Princewood Avenue and Waterbury Avenue. Residents can report potholes and street problems by calling the city’s hotline at 311 or the Staten Island DOT office at 212-839-2395.
