DBM allocates 15.4% of 2025 budget to education sector

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has proposed nearly P1 trillion for education in the 2025 national budget, representing 15.4% of the total P6.352 trillion. This is an increase from P968.9 billion allocated in 2024. Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman stated that the funding will support key programs, including the MATATAG Agenda for Basic Education and the School-Based Feeding Program. The government aims to enhance access to quality education through various initiatives. Additionally, P254.378 billion is allocated for cash assistance to vulnerable sectors. This funding supports programs across multiple departments, including agriculture, health, and social welfare, to help improve the lives of those in need.
